Nepeta cataria
Catnip blossom and leaf tea has long been used for its strongly antifungal and antibacterial properties. It is a proven bactericide for Staphylococcus aureus, as well as a close chemical relative to a number of insect repellants that affect mosquitoes and termites. This aromatic, floral, slightly sweet member of the mint family promotes relaxation and restful sleep, and reduces inflammations both mental and physical. It produces effects similar to that of valerian.
Directions: Place a measuring teaspoon of tea in a tea strainer or loose in an eight-ounce cup. Add boiling water and steep for at least 10 minutes. Makes approximately 20 cups of tea.
Packaged in a classic recycled aluminum tin.
