Miss Clyde's Goat Milk soap is handcrafted with, you guessed it, raw goat milk sourced locally. Our super sweet Walnut Fork Alpine dairy goat, Clyde, who passed away in 2022, and her daughter Dora (not dehorned), who is now retired from milk production, inspired my soap making and my deep love of dairy goats. Famous for her kisses, Clyde never failed to greet me with happy bleats. I loved watching her and Dora chase each other around their barn (and play hide-and-seek at every corner) or engage in a stylized version of head-butting, where they rose up on their hind-legs, dramatically lunged forward as if to crash skulls, but stopped just short of actual impact. It was quite the riveting ballet. Today the chickens and guineas often hang out in Dora's barn, laying eggs in her hay feeder during the summer. At all times of the year, they follow her around as if she's their long-awaited queen. Watching her emerge from the forest with a flock of birds behind is a vision from a Celtic fable brought to life. I can't imagine life without goats and the incredible milk and special companionship they provide.
Switching to soap made with raw goat milk (rather than water) can truly benefit your skin’s health. Goat milk soap is wonderful for people with dry or sensitive skin, or conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. It is also perfect for healthy skin that wants to stay that way. Unprocessed, raw goat milk fresh from the farm contains the following beneficial ingredients:
Alpha hydroxy acids, which remove dead skin cells.
Vitamin A, which is necessary to repair damaged skin tissue.
Cream, which actually moisturizes the skin.
Selenium, which has a role in preventing skin cancer.
We blend our goat milk with sustainably harvested olive, coconut and palm oils, sodium hydroxide for saponification, and essential oils for subtle scent. From the very first lather, we guarantee you will feel the difference!
