Ground Cherries, also called Husk Cherries because they grow inside a delicate paper lantern-like husk, have an exotic, sweet-tart flavor, with echoes of tomatillo and pineapple. A dollop of this jam is absolutely fantastic blended into plain yogurt or spread on a piece of crusty bread. I love it as a pastry filling or served alongside pork chops or ham steak. No pectin added. Reduced in sugar to allow the robust flavor to shine.
