“Autumn is a second spring
when every leaf is a flower.”
― Albert Camus
Week four of October has arrived and with it a chill in the weather. While it's a wee bit cooler and cloudier than ideal, we still have plenty of veggies coming your way. This week, we expect to have bok choy, green onions, collards & kale, green beans, broccoli, mesclun greens, pears and who knows what else? Your baskets will be very green!
November Schedule CSA member service will conclude on Tuesday, November 25. All deliveries that would have occurred Thursday (Thanksgiving Day) will simply be shifted to Tuesday. If you have ordered a fresh turkey, it will be delivered along with your regular CSA basket on Tuesday, November 25.
Extras in the Cooler & Freezer Walk-ins are welcome at our distribution hub: 503 Third Avenue in Marlinton. We're there Thursdays from 2 to 5 pm. For residents of the northern end of the county, we offer delivery to NRAO Thursdays between 4:30 and 5:30. Pick-up is at the Rec Center porch. This week, we expect to have the following extras: Acorn & butternut squash, green & yellow wax beans, red & yellow bell peppers, broccoli, eggplant, garlic, onions, cherry tomatoes, and a variety of greens (kale, chard and collards). We'll also have eggs! Yes, indeed, extra eggs in the cooler. Wondering what to cook this weekend? How about a pasture-raised chicken from S&S Farm? Melts-in-your-mouth yummy roasted with onions and garlic. S&S Farm also offers pasture-raised pork sausage, chops and roasts. Come see us!
