Winter Blues?
Not as long as there are seeds to plant!

Winter Season Eggs, Whole Chickens & Pork Sausage
Are you interested? Let us know!

Many of you have asked about the availability of eggs, whole chickens & pork sausage this winter. If you are interested in weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly purchase, please email or call Steve at 304-799-6915. We would like to schedule a regular Thursday pick-up  in Marlinton. PLEASE LET US KNOW IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN EGGS, CHICKEN OR PORK!  So far, we have ONE taker for Marlinton and TWO interested parties in Green Bank. This isn't enough for us to staff the shop in Marlinton or make the delivery to Green Bank. We need more of you to say you want the service in order for us to provide it. Please let us know. We want to serve your needs. Especially during this difficult travel season, what could be better than homegrown eggs and meats that you can pick-up right here at home?
Brightside's eight new Easter Egger pullets have begun laying green eggs! A welcome wonderful sign of life in this time of deep winter weather. Dawn is sorting seeds, planting trays, and making plans for another year! Steve took no time off and started planting the day after Christmas. He's got sprouts aplenty! Yay Steve! :-)

If you're feeling chilly this winter: think tea! Nothing quite like a fresh herbal infusion to warm the cockles of your heart and keep your teeth from chattering!

The days are short
The sun a spark
Hung thin between
The dark and dark.
Fat snowy footsteps
Track the floor.
Milk bottles burst
Outside the door.
The river is
A frozen place
Held still beneath
The trees of lace.
The sky is low.
The wind is gray.
The radiator
Purrs all day.
