We, the farm collaborative, wish to provide you with fresh, local, seasonal food and you, the customer-member, wish to receive a share of our harvest. This agreement outlines our mutual commitments to this relationship.
A. Becoming a Part of Our Farm Collaborative
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a relationship between our farm collaborative and you as our customer. Rather than simply purchasing food, our customers become members of this CSA who receive a share of our harvest.
B. Our Growing Practices
All of our growers employ sustainable agriculture practices although none of us have USDA organic certification. Our CSA is managed by experienced individuals who have been trained in organic growing practices, and who are responsible for securing commitments from each of our contributing producers in order to ensure that the products you receive are as safe, environmentally friendly, delicious and nutritious as possible.
C. The Products We Expect for 2017
The schedule below outlines the farm products we hope to deliver and when you may see them in your share. This is our best estimate of availability based on recent experience. Weather, pests, and other events may affect actual production. Members selecting a Family Share will generally receive approximately 10 lbs of produce per week. Members selecting a Single Share will generally receive approximately 5 lbs of produce per week. Please note that when considering the value of your share, absolute weight is not necessarily a measure of absolute value. It is our goal to give you the qualitatively best value and variety for your money. Eggs, yogurt and meats can be included for an additional fee if requested. These options are outlined in Section 4, Member Fees.

A. Sharing in the Risk of Crop Failure
We promise to do our best to provide you with a bountiful share each week. However, the quantity of local produce may vary from week-to-week due to extreme weather, insects, or other production factors we can't anticipate despite our best efforts. By joining our CSA, you are agreeing to share the risk of crop failure with us. In the unlikely event of a crop failure, we compensate for the failed crops by filling your share with other crops grown on other area farms that are ready for harvest at that time, and who adhere to our production practice standards. Should such a circumstance arise, we will keep you informed of available substitutions.
B. Sharing in the Reward of Crop Surplus
Our farm collaborative also sells to farmers markets, commercial outlets, and institutions. Our CSA customers receive priority. After filling CSA shares with the week’s harvest, the remainder is sold to our other markets. If harvests are particularly bountiful, your CSA share may receive additional produce at no additional cost.
You are responsible for picking up your weekly share. We have three locations to choose from:
If you can't pick up your share for whatever reason, please consider gifting it to a friend who can pick it up. Shares not retrieved during the designated pick-up time will be given away or sold unless prior arrangements have been made. Please let us know if you're running late or need to arrange an alternate pick-up time. We'll endeavor to do all we can to accommodate you.
Our 2017 season runs June 7 - October 25. We take a break the week of August 13, so there will be no CSA on Wednesday August 16.
We offer a discount of $5 per week for signing up on a seasonal basis. Seasonal membership must be paid in full by the first pick-up on June 7.
You can sign up month-to-month for more flexibility if you like. Monthly membership must be paid in full by the first pick-up of each selected month.
Eggs and yogurt can be included in your weekly share for an additional fee. Chicken and pork can be included for an additional fee based on a price per pound. Once we've received and processed your reservation, we'll welcome you as a member and confirm your first pick-up date!
The best way to communicate with us is via this website's contact form. On pick-up days (Wednesdays), for a more immediate response try calling or texting Dawn at 304-520-9595, Kelsey at 304-642-6736, or David at 304-651-0195.
When you sign up, you will be added to our email distribution and newsletter lists. Please read your email from us! Every week we will email you with information about the crops available that week, recipe ideas, photos, or other farm related news.
By submitting the CSA Membership Reservation, you agree to purchase the membership share you indicate. Please note that, although unlikely, the farm collaborative may change parts of this agreement related to production and distribution from time to time. We will contact you via email in advance of any changes to this agreement.
Thanks for becoming a member or our CSA. We look forward to growing for and with you! Questions? Ask now!
