Produce on the Move!
Welcome to 2017 and season four of Pocahontas County Produce on the Move! operated by Brightside Acres. We aggregate naturally-grown produce, eggs, meats, and an amazing array of culinary wonders from growers located in West Virginia's Greenbrier Valley (Pocahontas, Greenbrier and Monroe counties) and distribute these goods to our CSA members. CSA means "Community Supported Agriculture." Members sign up in advance to reserve a "share" of the highest quality farm products our region has to offer. Our growers are Greenbrier Valley Grown Certified by the Greenbrier Valley Local Food Initiative and have proven their commitment to the use of sustainable, chemical-free, and biodynamic methods in raising produce and livestock.
The 2017 CSA season will run from June 7 through October 25, with pick-up occurring on Wednesday of each week during the five-month season. We take a break the week of August 13, so there will be no CSA on Wednesday August 16. See the CSA Membership Agreement for costs and details. We send a weekly email newsletter to our members letting them know what to expect in the week's share, providing recipes, nutritional information, and news & photos from our growers.
Produce on the Move! offers Family-sized and Single-sized Memberships. Reserve your share for the five-month season and save $5 per week, or sign up month-to-month for more flexibility.
Produce on the Move! Marlinton Store
Throughout the season, the "extra" produce and other Greenbrier Valley goodies we have available varies from week to week. In order to offer this abundance to the public, we operate a storefront at 503 Third Avenue, Marlinton, 10-6 every Thursday during the CSA season. We encourage anyone interested in shopping at Produce on the Move! to contact us and tell us you want to receive weekly email notification of what's available at the store.
